| Clara Daining is a Research Assistant Professor in the Ruth H. Young Center for Children and Families at the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Dr. Daining's research interests are child neglect prevention, recruitment and retention of child welfare staff, child welfare policy analysis, resilience, and outcomes of youth formerly in foster care. Her practice experience includes working with families and children in foster care. She also worked as an In-Home Interventionist for the Annapolis Family Support Center (AFSC) providing parenting and life skills training for at-risk families and children. She also facilitated parenting programs at AFSC and Second Genesis, an in-patient drug treatment program. Her previous research experiences have been with the Center for Excellence in Women's Health at the University of Maryland, School of Medicine, and with Westat, Inc., a health survey research company, where she worked on the National Pregnancy and Health Study, and the National Growth and Health Study. Ms. Daining received a BA degree from the University of Maryland, College Park, and earned both her MSW and PhD degrees from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work. |
