| Michael Demidenko is a clinical social worker and social work educator. He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. Mr. Demidenko is a doctoral candidate in public administration at the University of Baltimore. His background includes experience as a social worker at the Carroll County Department of Social Services in programs including family preservation, foster care, and adoption. He has also supervised foster care services at the Baltimore County Department of Social Services and served as a field instructor for UMBC, UMB-SSW, and Villa Julie. Currently, Mr. Demidenko is a faculty member at the University of Maryland School of Social Work where he is the Program Manager for the Training Program of the Child Welfare Academy. The Child Welfare Academy includes the Title IV-E Education for Public Child Welfare Program, a partnership with the Maryland Department of Human Resources to prepare Bachelor and Master social work students for social work practice in Maryland’s public child welfare programs and the Child Welfare Training Program, which provides pre-service and in-service training to Maryland’s public child welfare workers, supervisors, and administrators, as well as foster, kinship, and adoptive families. He is particularly interested in outcome evaluation in child welfare, the effects of remedial law on child welfare systems, and child welfare workforce issues. |
